IDF Officer (Res.) Mr. Elliot Chodoff

Mr. Elliot Chodoff received a BA with honors in Sociology and a BS in Biological Sciences from SUNY at Stony Brook and an MA in Sociology from The University of Chicago. He is writing a PhD dissertation in International Relations at the University of Haifa on deterrence of terrorist organizations.

Specialty: Deterrence and US Military Manpower Policy, Cultural Relativism and Nuclear Deterrence Policy in the Middle East, Israel’s Changing Defense Posture Following the 1982 Invasion of Lebanon, Terrorists’ Use of Modern Information Technology, and Regional Deterrence During and After the Cold War.

Elliot is a major in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reserves and is a graduate of the Home Front Command Senior Commanders Course. He presently serves as the Population Officer of IDF Northern Command.
