Mr. Adam Cole

Mr. Adam Cole is a lawyer in San Francisco with extensive experience in government and the private sector. From 2007 to 2015, he was General Counsel of the California Department of Insurance where he provided legal and strategic guidance to the elected commissioner of insurance of California. In that capacity, he developed and led a successful effort to get insurance companies to divest from holdings in companies supporting the Iranian nuclear, military and energy sectors.

Prior to government service, Mr. Cole was a partner at a national law firm where he directed complex litigation on behalf of commercial insurance policyholders. Among his engagements, he represented a party in insurance litigation stemming from the September 11 terrorist attacks in the U.S.

Mr. Cole is a member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and National Commissioner of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). He regularly provides commentary on Israel and the Middle East in Northern California press. In 2004, Mr. Cole was a Visiting Policy Analyst at the Re’ut Institute in Tel Aviv.
